Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Sonographer to perform advanced diagnostic ultrasound imaging in outpatient and inpatient settings, including abdominal, vascular, small parts, and OB/GYN exams.

The role requires high analytical ability, independent judgment, and collaboration with physicians to synthesize and communicate preliminary clinical impressions, while supporting complex procedures and maintaining sterile technique.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program and/or ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
• One year of experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• ARDMS registered or registry eligible in abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology and vascular technology.
• BLS certification within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously performs high quality, advanced diagnostic ultrasound imaging for outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Assists in complex invasive procedures and intraoperative cases with a team approach.
• Uses analytical ability to obtain images and measurements and communicates a preliminary clinical diagnosis.
• Identifies imaging orders, integrates history, data, and symptoms for appropriate protocols.
• Maintains sterile technique, safe practices, and procedural documentation.
• Participates in QA, equipment maintenance, and department accreditation activities.
