Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is seeking an IT Technician to support and maintain district PC and Macintosh hardware, operating systems, and software. You will assist with imaging, deployments, and project-led technology refreshes across sites, with emphasis on both desktop and mobile devices.

Candidates should have strong troubleshooting skills, experience with SCCM imaging, and familiarity with Windows/macOS environments.

Qualifications

High School graduation or equivalent; an associate degree is preferred.
Associates degree in information technology or related field preferred.
Three years’ experience with PC/Apple technology in a LAN/WAN environment.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+ and Network+ preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide primary hardware and software support district-wide; deploy and maintain equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve desktop issues; train users on best practices to reduce calls.
Lead project design for technology deployments; coordinate with vendors as needed.
Oversee refresh cycles including delivery and removal of equipment.
Monitor wired/wireless networks; collaborate with Networking team on requests.
Develop and maintain documentation and knowledge base for support teams.
Estimate task durations and track actual time for accountability.
