Job summary

Pearce Services is hiring an Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) to perform site maintenance at solar power plants near San Jose, California. You will handle preventative and corrective maintenance, document work, and support equipment testing while prioritizing safety and reliability.

Candidates should have 2+ years in commercial/industrial O&M for solar projects, with experience in inverters, trackers, and sub-station equipment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in Commercial/Industrial operations and maintenance (O&M) on solar power plants is preferred.
• Preventative Maintenance experience on Solar Utility equipment is preferred.
• Candidates should possess strong mechanical and electrical experience with troubleshooting and installation skills.
• Specific solar experience with Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub-Stations Equipment (TMEIC/SMA/Sungrow/Nextracker/ATI, etc.) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of Solar Utility and Sub-Station equipment.
• Responsible for documentation including work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency information schedules.
• Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
• Testing/troubleshooting installed solar equipment and ensuring proper working order.
• Must have a strong safety background with experience in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Able to work in a solo as well as a group environment.
• Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.
