Job summary

Astrya Global is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant for a 13-week assignment in San Diego, CA. Provide inpatient trauma coverage, perform daily rounds, manage discharges, and coordinate care across the trauma service.

Shifts are 12 hours (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM), seven days a week including weekends and holidays. Requires CA PA license, NCCPA, BLS/CPR, ACLS, and acute care certification. Competitive pay: $125–$130/hr plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Current California Physician Assistant license in good standing.
• NCCPA certification required or active.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications current.
• Experience in inpatient trauma and acute care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient trauma coverage on Trauma Floor and Stepdown Unit.
• Perform daily rounds on up to 15 patients.
• Complete daily progress notes and documentation.
• Manage discharges and discharge planning.
• Coordinate patient care across the trauma service.
• Provide general clinical support for the trauma service as needed.
• Work in a high-volume, fast-paced inpatient environment.

Pay Rate: $125 - $130/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA) for a temporary assignment in San Diego, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Surgery Trauma Physician Assistant

• Provide inpatient trauma coverage for trauma patients with variable acuity across the Trauma Floor and Stepdown Unit (INU)
• Perform daily inpatient rounding on up to 15 patients per day
• Complete daily progress note documentation
• Conduct patient evaluations and provide ongoing clinical management
• Manage discharges and discharge planning
• Coordinate patient care across the trauma service
• Provide general clinical support for the trauma service as needed
• Manage a fast-paced and variable-acuity inpatient trauma population
• Work 12-hour day shifts (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM), Monday through Sunday, including weekends
• Provide holiday coverage as required
• Maintain current Acute Care certification
• Maintain current California Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
• Maintain current NCCPA certification
• Maintain current BLS/CPR certification
• Maintain current ACLS certification
• Work independently in a high-volume, fast-paced inpatient environment
