Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA) for a temporary assignment in Sacramento, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA)

• Provide cardiac surgery physician assistant support in the hospital setting
• Work variable 10-hour day shifts (0630-1700) including call coverage, weekends, and holidays
• Collaborate with APPs, residents, and surgeons as part of the cardiac surgery support team
• Provide coverage at 75% to full-time capacity per month
• Support mostly OR-based patient care for a variable adult patient population
• Perform expert endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH) and radial artery harvesting
• Serve as cardiac first assist in the cardiac surgery operating room
• Maintain board certification as PA or RNFA
• Maintain active state PA or RNFA licensure
• Maintain active DEA registration
• Demonstrate expert-level experience in cardiac surgery OR assistance
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical records system for documentation
• Comply with COVID-19 vaccine requirements (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Complete credentialing requirements within the required timeframe
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
