Job summary

Astrya Global Medical Staffing is assisting a hospital in Lancaster, CA to fill an Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) role for a 6-month term with potential extension. Work Monday–Friday in a clinic setting, assisting in total joint care, fractures, and post-surgery management.

Licensed California PA with BLS/ACLS and board certification is required; EPIC experience is preferred. Compensation is $150–$155 per hour with weekly and overtime pay, plus benefits and travel support.

Qualifications

• Active California Physician Assistant License required.
• Board Certification in Orthopedics preferred.
• BLS/ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Clinic coverage for new, return, and post-surgery patients.
• Round on orthopedic patients in hospital and manage pain.
• See outpatients, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and plan treatments.
• Handle urgent and emergency orthopedic cases as needed.
• See ~20 patients per day in a high-volume clinic.
• Collaborate with surgeons to provide comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate medical records.

Location: Lancaster, CA

Term: 6 months with option to extend
Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Pay Rate: $150-$155/hr

A hospital in Lancaster, CA is looking for Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistants to provide additional coverage for increased patient load. These locum tenens positions are a 6-month term with the ability to extend. Providers will scrub and assist in total joint, fractures, and post surgery.

Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA)

• Clinic Coverage – Handing patients including New Patients, Fractures, Return Patients post surgery, handling injections.
• Round on orthopedic patients in the hospital, assessing their condition, managing pain, and providing education
• See patients in the outpatient clinic, diagnosing conditions, prescribing medications, and developing treatment plans
• Manage urgent and emergency orthopedic cases as needed
• Handle a high-volume clinic workload, seeing approximately 20 patients per day
• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons to provide comprehensive patient care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
