GEO Secured Services is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses in an inmate population. The role focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, and coordinating care with physicians and specialists.

Responsibilities include performing exams, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and documenting care plans. Must maintain licensure and stay current with clinical guidelines; after-hours coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant studies required.
• Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, or as a Physician Assistant in the state the facility is located, as well as a current DEA license.
• Two years of advanced practice experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine medical examinations on inmates or detainees under established guidelines.
• Diagnoses and treats acute and chronic medical illnesses.
• Provides medical treatment and services in conjunction with a physician.
• Prescribes medication dosages, routes, and frequencies per licensure.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests such as CBCs, EKGs, x-rays with physician oversight.
• Maintains comprehensive health care documentation in patient records.
• Educates patients about self-management and medication regimens.
• Refers patients to specialists when conditions exceed scope of practice.
