Job summary

GEO Secured Services is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to diagnose and treat inmates, independently or with a healthcare team. Responsibilities include physical exams, prescribing medications, and coordinating diagnostic tests under physician supervision.

The role emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, and comprehensive charting, with availability for after-hours coverage as required by the facility. Applicants must hold a current state license and relevant credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant studies.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice as RN and Nurse Practitioner or as PA in the state of assignment.
• Two years of advanced practice experience preferred.
• Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to administer medications and perform physical assessments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine medical examinations on inmates or detainees under established guidelines.
• Diagnoses and treats acute and chronic medical illnesses.
• Provides medical treatment in conjunction with a physician.
• Develops treatment plans and prescribes medications within licensure.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests with physician oversight.
• Documents care and maintains medical records.
• Educates patients on self-management and health promotion.
• Schedules follow-up visits and maintains licensure requirements.
• Available for 24-hour coverage as needed.
