The GEO Group, Inc. is hiring an Advanced Practice Provider to diagnose and treat inmates, perform health promotion, and coordinate with physicians.

Responsibilities include exams, diagnoses, treatment plans, and prescribing medications within licensure, with access to diagnostic tests and follow-up care. This role requires nursing or PA licensure in the state, prior advanced practice experience preferred, and ability to operate in a correctional healthcare setting with after-hours coverage as

Qualifikationen

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant studies.
• Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, or as a Physician Assistant in the state the facility is located, plus a current DEA license.
• Two years of advanced practice experience preferred.
• Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to administer prescribed medications.
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Aufgaben

• Performs routine medical examinations on inmates or detainees under established guidelines.
• Diagnoses and treats acute and chronic medical illnesses.
• Provides medical treatment and services in conjunction with a physician.
• Formulates comprehensive treatment plans and prognosis based on the patient’s health conditions.
• Prescribes medication dosages, routes, and frequencies based on diagnosis.
• Orders, performs, or interprets diagnostic tests with physician oversight as needed.
• Documents all health care services provided and maintains patient records.
• Counsels patients on prescribed drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions.
