Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time role (40 hours/week) with potential off-hour and on-call duties. This off-site position is not based in Boston and supports ambulatory and inpatient care for patients with complex medical conditions.

The role involves patient assessments, care planning, education, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Licensure and BLS are required; prescriptive authority and prior experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Nursing; Master's degree preferred.
• License required: Nursing License, and Certificate 1 required: Basic Life Support
• MA Board authorization to practice as an APRN NRSG; Prescriptive authority from MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA
• American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate
• Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access)
• 0-1 years related work experience required

Responsibilities

• 1. Performs history and physical examinations, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and education to patients and families.
• 2. Acts as an educator and clinical resource for staff through consultation, education, literature review and seminars.
• 3. Coordinates patient care to provide safe, effective, timely patient-centered care.
• 4. Develops care plans and coordinates with physicians for complex diagnoses.
• 5. Documents clinical encounters clearly and timely.
• 6. Works in collaboration with health professionals and demonstrates interdisciplinary care.
• 7. Provides direct patient care and management for all opioid patients.
