Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks an Advanced Pharmacy Technician for a full-time rotating shift (days/evenings). Weekend work is required. Prior sterile compounding experience is preferred; must be able to stand and walk for long periods.

Works under supervision of the Pharmacy Technician Coordinator, Supervisor or Manager and helps manage workflow, inventory, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 4 years as a pharmacy technician and 2 years in advanced pharmacy technician concentration.
• Licenses: Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration or Pharmacist Intern upon hire; sterile compounding certification; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily workflow and provide supervision to technicians.
• Audit and sign out all controlled substances per guidelines.
• Assist with drug inventory and systems (Cardinal, PeopleSoft, etc.).
• Sterile and hazardous compounding following USP standards.
• Train and mentor Pharmacy Technicians and students.
