Job summary

The Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) at St. David's North Austin Medical Center supports nurses by performing advanced clinical tasks, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment, and delivering patient-centered care under supervision.

You will observe patients, assist with ADLs, perform phlebotomy and telemetry, and support lab collection and clerical duties to keep care running smoothly, while looking ahead to patient needs and maintaining compassionate communication.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Observe patients, document changes, and communicate them with the nursing team
• Help patients with daily needs (ADLs) such as eating, drinking, bathing, and moving safely
• Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removing IV lines and catheters, and care for wounds
• Assist with supporting tasks like collecting lab samples and assisting with clerical duties to keep care running smoothly
• Look ahead to what patients might need, respond quickly, and help ensure every experience feels seamless and compassionate
