Job summary

St. David’s Medical Center, part of St. David’s HealthCare, in Austin, TX, is hiring an Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the NICU.

Under the guidance of a registered nurse, you will perform advanced clinical tasks and support a safe, compassionate environment for newborns and families. You will observe patients, document changes, assist with ADLs, perform phlebotomy, telemetry tasks, and help with lab collection and clerical duties to keep care running smoothly.

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients, document changes, and communicate them with the nursing team
• Help patients with daily needs (ADLs) such as eating, drinking, bathing, and moving safely
• Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removing IV lines and catheters, and care for wounds
• Assist with supporting tasks like collecting lab samples and assisting with clerical duties to keep care running smoothly
• Look ahead to what patients might need, respond quickly, and help ensure every experience feels seamless and compassionate
