Job summary

VA Central California Health Care System in Health Administration Service is seeking an Advanced Medical Support Assistant to provide specialized administrative patient support within an interdisciplinary care delivery model.

Tour of Duty is Sunday - Thursday 12:00PM - 8:30PM. Applicants may be referred if requirements are not yet met; full qualifications are expected for final hire, including US citizenship and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• One year of experience equivalent to GS-5 in scheduling, patient intake, or related administrative duties.
• Advanced knowledge of health care processes and patient flow coordination.
• Ability to communicate with diverse medical staff and patients to support care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, cancel, reschedule patient appointments and/or consults.
• Enter no-show information and monitor appointment requests from multiple sources.
• Coordinate transfers to VA facilities or private hospitals.
• Participate in clinic huddles to determine daily needs and priorities.
• Prepare reports and present data to organizational levels; resolve patient concerns.
