Job summary

Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers and ensure patient comfort and safety. You will perform rooming, collect vitals, review history, and coordinate EMR documentation to support quality care.

The role requires adherence to MA scope, completion of an accredited MA program, and BLS where required. You will assist with procedures, labs, vaccines, and referrals, working closely with clinicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties including venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, and CLIA waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals as assigned.
• Cross trained to support specialty or clinic practice within MA scope.
• Communicates effectively, collaborates with team, escalates when needed.
• Keeps a clean, stocked, safe work environment and maintains equipment.
