Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across multiple Charlotte-area divisions, including Greater Charlotte and Wake Forest. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, patient history, and assisting with procedures and vaccines.

The role requires completion of an accredited MA program and current AHA BLS certification, with experience in clinical settings. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant.
• Experience working within MA scope under supervision and competency.
• Proficiency with basic software and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows policy and competency standards.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, screenings, and medication reconciliation.
• Assists provider with procedures and administers medications/vaccines as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT per standing orders, CLIA-waived tests.
• Performs other duties: medication refills, scheduling, insurance authorizations, patient messaging.
• Maintains clean work environment and ensures equipment is stocked and maintained.
• May assist with training new teammates and serve on committees.
• Demonstrates effective communication and escalation as needed.
