Job summary

HealthPartners' Regions Hospital seeks an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider for EMS event medicine in Oakdale, MN. The role supports event medical and first aid stations at venues, delivering high-acuity patient care from arrival through ED transport.

Responsibilities include coordinating care for high-acuity patients, communicating with event staff and EMS/police, and guiding BLS providers while executing orders and procedures. ALS competencies are required within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Paramedic certification by MN EMSRB or RN MN with critical care/ED experience.
• RN MN with critical care or ED experience qualifies for RN pathway.
• RN MN with EMT certification also acceptable as alternative.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Regions Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider with excellent communication skills to join our EMS Special Events Team. Our Special Events team delivers care of patient needs upon their arrival to the event Medical or First Aid Stations at various venues. Join us and bring your EMS career to the next level!

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating care of high acuity patients in order to expedite treatment and/or transportation to the ED
• Communicating with other event medical staff and assigning patient care needs
• Communicating with the EMS and police personnel as necessary
• Observing, participating and managing overall patient care to facilitate care and resolve issues or potential problems.
• Providing work direction to BLS care providers; performing and documenting dependent functions such as carrying out EMS Medical Directors medical orders and performing diagnostic and treatment procedures; providing a safe environment; coordinating, communicating, interpreting, and explaining patient care services to the patient, family, EMS personnel and other health professionals.
• Demonstrating all ALS Provider Competencies for event medicine providers as prescribed by the Office of the EMS Medical Director within 3 months of hire.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Paramedic certified by the State of MN EMSRB - or - licensed RN in the State of MN with critical care or ED experience - or - licensed RN in the State of MN with current MN EMT certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Successful completion of Paramedic education program; Two years of clinical experience in an emergency medical setting.
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Paramedic certified by the State of WI - or - licensed RN in the State of WI with critical care or ED experience - or - licensed RN in the State of WI with current EMT certification.
