Job summary

Regions Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic ALS Provider to join the EMS Special Events Team. You will coordinate care for high-acuity patients at events, work with event medical staff, and liaise with EMS and police personnel to ensure timely and effective care.

Training on ALS competencies is required within 3 months of hire. The role requires paramedic certification or MN RN with critical care/ED experience, or MN RN with EMT certification, and a proven track record in emergency medical

Job description

Regions Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider with excellent communication skills to join our EMS Special Events Team. Our Special Events team delivers care of patient needs upon their arrival to the event Medical or First Aid Stations at various venues. Join us and bring your EMS career to the next level!

Responsibilities

• Coordinating care of high acuity patients in order to expedite treatment and /or transportation to the ED

• communicating with other event medical staff and assigning patient care needs

• Communicating with the EMS and police personnel as necessary

• Observing, participating and managing overall patient care to facilitate care and resolve issues or potential problems.

The ALS Provider may provide work direction to BLS care providers; perform and document dependent functions such as carrying out EMS Medical Directors medical orders and perform diagnostic and treatment procedures; provide a safe environment; coordinate, communicate, interpret, and explain patient care services to the patient, family, EMS personnel and other health professionals.

The ALS Provider will be required to demonstrate all ALS Provider Competencies for event medicine providers as prescribed by the Office of the EMS Medical Director within 3 months of hire.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Paramedic certified by the State of MN EMSRB -OR- licensed RN in the State of MN with critical care or ED experience -OR- licensed RN in the state of MN with current MN EMT certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

• Successful completion of Paramedic education program

• Two years of clinical experience in an emergency medical setting

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Paramedic certified by the State of WI -OR- licensed RN in the State of WI with critical care or ED experience -OR- licensed RN in the state of WI with current EMT certification.
