Job summary

Forged Fiber in Minnesota seeks an advanced-level field technician to install, repair, and test fiber services for homes and small businesses. You will communicate clearly with customers, explain installation steps, enable networks on approved modems/routers, and connect cables to deliver reliable service.

Responsibilities include on-site fiber drops, testing with OTDR/ fault finder, splicing, and coordinating with customers.

Qualifications

• Customer service or related experience is preferred.
• Willing to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to climb and work at elevations.
• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-home installation and service for fiber customers.
• Tests, turn up and maintenance of outside/inside plant equipment.
• Interact with customers professionally on-site and by phone.
• Install, repair, reconnect drops and cables as needed.
• Place and bury buried fiber drops; manage splices and testing.
• Read service orders and perform designated work.
