Job summary

Alamance County Government seeks an Advanced EMT to deliver high-level emergency medical care on 24-hour shifts and respond to a variety of medical emergencies and traumas.

You will operate ambulances, monitor equipment, document patient care data, and coordinate care with hospital staff and dispatch. NC Advanced EMT certification, valid NC driver's license, and continued education are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; some experience as an Advanced EMT or equivalent.
• Computer skills: data-entry and basic Windows usage preferred.
• NC Driver's license required; NC Advanced EMT certification; continuing education required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency calls for medical illnesses, traumatic injuries, vehicle crashes, fires, and disasters with a partner EMT/Advanced EMT/Paramedic.
• Monitors, maintains and inspects ambulance units for readiness and cleanliness.
• Operates emergency medical vehicle to and from scene, selecting efficient routes.
• Records patient data and treatment details for billing and data collection.
• Initiates treatment including basic/advanced airway management and IV/IO access.
