Job summary

Mercy Health seeks an ED Tech Advanced to assist in patient care under the supervision of an RN. The role involves direct patient support, vital signs, basic procedures, and documentation in a fast-paced environment at West Hospital.

36 weekly hours with 7p-730a shifts and rotating weekends/holidays. Requires a High School diploma or GED; AEMT training preferred; BLS and certificiations may be required depending on state rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with completion of AEMT program preferred.
• Current licensure or certifications may be required by state, including BLS if hired.
• Minimum 1 year of ED tech or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision and document care accurately.
• Perform basic patient care tasks including vital signs, hygiene and mobility support.
• Assist with lab draws, ECGs, wound care and IV site care under direction.
• Support patient safety and communication between patient and nursing staff.
• Transport patients and use monitors as required during treatment.
• Adhere to policy, safety, and regulatory guidelines and escalate concerns.
