Job summary

Pasadena Humane seeks an Adoptions Manager to lead a team of Adoptions Counselors in a fast-paced shelter environment. You will develop adoption policies, coordinate staff and volunteer efforts, and work with placement leadership to ensure consistent practices across departments.

You will recruit, train, and schedule adoption counselors and volunteers, coordinate adoption events, and present externally as needed, while upholding the charity’s mission and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years in animal welfare with at least 2 years in a supervisory/training role.
• Experience with public and diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead Adoptions Counselors (staff and volunteers) in a busy shelter setting.
• Develop and coordinate adoptions policies and procedures.
• Attend meetings on animal flow and shelter operations.
• Train, schedule, and manage adoption staff and volunteers.
• Collaborate with Placement leadership to standardize practices.
• Recruit and train volunteer adoption team; oversee onboarding and scheduling.
