Job summary

Sunnyvale Post-Acute in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead the nursing team alongside the Director of Nursing. This full-time, exempt role focuses on clinical leadership, high-quality patient care, and regulatory compliance.

The ADON will mentor RNs, LVNs, and CNAs, drive QA/QAPI initiatives, oversee care plans, and ensure readiness for state surveys, while promoting a collaborative and compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license in California.
• 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience in SNF, post-acute, or long-term care.
• Prior leadership experience as Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, or ADON.
• Strong working knowledge of federal and state Title 22 regulations governing long-term care.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and EHR/charting skills.

Responsibilities

• Clinical leadership: assist the DON in overseeing daily operations of the nursing department to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Staff development: mentor, train, and supervise nursing staff (RNs, LVNs, CNAs).
• Quality assurance: participate in QA/QAPI programs, conduct clinical audits, and implement corrective action plans.
• Patient advocacy: oversee resident care plans, manage complex clinical issues, and serve as a point of contact for families and physicians.
• Survey readiness: help lead the team through state surveys and maintain regulatory readiness.
