Job summary

Cantex Healthcare is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing Services to support the Director of Nursing in directing daily operations and ensuring quality care in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

The role focuses on supervising nursing staff, coordinating care plans, and maintaining documentation to protect patient safety and regulatory compliance. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Current and valid nursing license in applicable state (TX).
• Minimum of two years charge nurse and supervisory experience in long-term care preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate day-to-day nursing care with the Director of Nursing Services.
• Ensure treatments, medications, and nursing services follow care plans and physician orders.
• Attend and participate in evaluation discussions and required counseling actions as per policy.
• Lead weekly/monthly committees (Skin, Falls, Restraints, Weights, Assessments, QA) per policy.
• Conduct rounds to verify nursing staff performance and adherence to regulations.
• Notify physicians and families promptly about significant changes in patient health.
• Serve as team leader and role model; participate in on-call rotations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with clinical policies and state/federal guidelines.
• Oversee staff orientation and ongoing professional development.
• Complete annual or probationary evaluations and provide corrective action when needed.
