Job summary

Storybrook Care and Rehabilitation seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing / Infection Preventionist (ADON/IP) to lead the Nursing Services Department and uphold high safety and quality standards for residents. The role emphasizes infection control, caregiver development, and collaborative care in a long-term care setting.

You will oversee policy implementation, staff scheduling, and coordination with administrators to ensure regulatory compliance and exceptional resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved Registered Nurse program and hold a current RN license in the state.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in healthcare settings.
• Infection Prevention (IP) certification is required.
• Knowledge of nursing practice, regulations, and age-related resident needs.
• Patience, tact, and enthusiasm for challenging residents.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct the nursing service department and its programs.
• Develop, update, and enforce nursing policies and procedures.
• Complete administrative duties such as forms, reports, and charting.
• Determine staffing needs and assign nursing personnel.
• Ensure training for nursing assistants in approved programs.
• Schedule and lead nursing service meetings and rounds.
• Interact with residents, families, and staff to ensure quality of care.
