Job summary

Family of Caring at Ridgewood in New Jersey is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing / Infection Preventionist (ADON/IP) to join our nursing leadership team. This full-time role reports to the Director of Nursing (DON) and receives strong support from administration and ownership.

The ADON/IP will oversee clinical operations, infection prevention program, and compliance with NJDOH and CMS, mentoring staff and serving as acting DON when needed.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license required.
• ADON experience or nursing leadership experience in SNF/LTC required.
• CDC/CMS-recognized Infection Preventionist training, or willingness to complete it on hire.

Responsibilities

• Support the DON in day-to-day clinical operations, staffing, and supervision of the nursing department.
• Own the facility's infection prevention and control program: surveillance, outbreak management, antibiotic stewardship, staff education, and NHSN reporting.
• Ensure compliance with NJDOH and CMS regulations, lead the infection control portion of survey readiness.
• Mentor nurses and CNAs on clinical standards, documentation, and infection control practices.
• Step in as acting Director of Nursing when the DON is out of the building.
