Job summary

Holy Family Medical Center is seeking an Admitting Manager in Des Plaines, IL to lead the Admitting department across all registration functions, information desk, financial counseling, and related duties.

Responsibilities include directing staff, ensuring timely patient registration, insurance verification, and coordination with payer principles. A high school diploma is required with 3–5 years supervisory experience in Admitting; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelors’ degree in Business Management or Accounting preferred.
• Three to five years experience as a supervisor/ manager in the Admitting areas of an acute care facility preferred.
• Must understand third party payer principles and COBRA laws.
• Strong organizational skills for effective communication with patients, physicians, staff.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and administration in all aspects of the Admitting department.
• Oversee all registration functions across hospital areas, information desk, financial counseling, cashier processes, insurance verification, hospital mail, and PBX area.
