• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Customer Services experience required
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required

Responsibilities

• Interviews the patient or representative to obtain demographics and insurance information.
• Secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
• Collaborates with PBX operator and reception areas within Admitting.
• Inputs and retrieves data on computer systems.
• Communicates with patients using age-appropriate terminology.
• Performs special projects with timely completion as assigned.
