Qualifications

• Reading and numerical competency.
• College business and/or accounting courses preferred.
• Minimum of one year of patient scheduling and healthcare patient registration.
• Knowledge of third party payer requirements, healthcare billing, and strong customer service experience.
• Ability to prioritize and work in an organized, efficient manner without constant supervision.
• Detail-oriented, accurate with cash handling and daily batch processing.
• Experience with basic computer use, internet, data entry and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-services functions for outpatient diagnostic procedures and complete scheduling, registration and insurance verification.
• Identify patient and maintain accurate information within the EMR.
• Collect financial information including payment from patient/guarantor.
• Obtain insurance information, benefits, and authorizations for services.
• Calculate co-pay, deductible and co-insurance amounts.
• Obtain medical and financial consents and secure signatures on required documents.
• Provide information to patients about Patient Rights, Privacy and Advance Care Directives.
• Schedule all outpatient procedures timely and accurately based on policy and protocol.
