Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred.
• 2 years’ experience in healthcare intake or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel.
• Understanding of patient compliance issues, Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial Insurance.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with Medical Terminology.
• Experience in a call center environment.
• Ability to multi-task, problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates conversion of referrals to admissions through intake process and customer service.
• Complete financial clearance by determining eligibility.
• Pre-qualify referrals to ensure efficient processing.
• Verify primary and secondary insurance information and coverage details.
• Determine plan type, effective/termination dates, and network status.
• Enter and maintain patient demographics and insurance data in software systems.
• Communicate with referral sources and teams to support partnerships.
• Establish relationships with insurers and managed care entities.
• Obtain complete information to maximize reimbursement and timely filing.
• Utilize reports to ensure accurate documentation in systems.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, customer service and time management.
