Northeastern Technical College (NETC) is seeking an Admissions Counselor to provide excellent service to students, colleagues, and the public. The role recruits qualified graduates, converts inquiries to applicants, and guides applicants through enrollment.
The position supports outreach to diverse populations, maintains recruitment records, and assists with program development and strategic planning. Travel within the college’s service area is required.

The Admissions Counselor provides outstanding service to students, colleagues, and the general public, recruits qualified future graduates to educational opportunities offered by the College, solicits inquiries and converts them to applicants and matriculants while providing assistance through each step of the enrollment process.
State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree. Must have a valid driver's license. NETC Preferred Requirements: A master's degree in a related field plus two (2) years of relevant experience in higher education. Must have a valid driver's license. Knowledge of the assigned program area, such as counseling, student activities, financial aid, recruiting or housing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, students, parents, coworkers and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be able to demonstrate the proven abilities of intellectual reasoning, power of persuasion, and consistent dedication to the position. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Ability to learn to operate College-specific software and applications. Ability to work with continuous attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofreading material. Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines while effectively managing time. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with a demonstrated ability to multi-task with little supervision.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment and requires prolonged periods of sitting and standing, as well as frequent use of a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment. The position requires occasional lifting and/or moving of materials weighing up to 25 pounds (e.g., recruitment materials, displays, and event supplies). Travel throughout the College’s three-county service area is required, with occasional evening and weekend work to support recruitment events, college fairs, and community outreach activities. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and in writing, and to move between campus locations and event sites as needed.
