Job summary

Casa Arena Healthcare in Alamogordo, NM seeks an Admissions Coordinator to manage admission guidelines, market programs, collect applicant information, screen candidates, and complete the admissions process while addressing resident concerns during transitions to the center.

This role focuses on census development, verifying insurance coverage, coordinating with social services, and communicating with families and referral sources to ensure a smooth, compliant admission experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in health care services desirable.
• Familiarity with long-term care and/or health care services useful.
• Presents professional image through appearance, behavior and speech.

Responsibilities

• Maintains admissions guidelines and updates admission criteria, policies and procedures.
• Markets programs and facilities by providing information and conducting tours for prospective residents, responsible parties, and referral sources.
• Handles walk-in or telephone inquiries and completes admission paperwork; gathers nursing information from relevant systems.
• Ensures financial verification is accurate and complete before admission to reduce accounts receivable.
• Screens prospective residents against admission criteria and refers residents and families to other programs as needed.
• Resolves resident/family dissatisfactions by investigating concerns and suggesting policy changes.
• Maintains knowledge of served markets, resident origins, and major referral sources.
• Assists census development by contacting referral sources.
• Manages incoming inquiries as needed; supports central intake as applicable.
• Uses clinical inventory to evaluate residents for admission and coordinates with hospital and social services as needed; verifies eligibility and signs paperwork.
• Effectively sells private transition days to current residents.
• May assist Administrator with post-admission follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
• Other duties may be assigned at any time.
