Job summary

Casa Arena Healthcare in New Mexico is seeking a friendly Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing activity and recreational services for residents. You will help plan programs, encourage participation in arts, outings, religious and educational activities, and assist with monthly calendars and documentation per policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of experience in long-term care is required.
• One year of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the development and delivery of activity programs to promote residents' engagement and functioning.
• Encourages resident participation in group and individual activities (arts/crafts, outings, religious,..., educational activities, service activities, recreation).
• Assists in completing activity documentation per regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submits supplies list to Activity/Recreation Director and receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assists Activity/Recreation Director in organizing and supervising volunteers.
• Assists with Resident Council Meetings when necessary.
• Assists in planning community activities including residents, staff, families and the community.
• Assists in completing a monthly calendar of activity programs and posts it in the center.
• Other duties may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
