Description of Work

Salary Recruitment Range: $37,782 - $42,000

Salary Grade: NC08

This position qualifies for a hybrid telework option, combining routine office and remote workdays. Telework is subject to management discretion.

Mission of the Department of Insurance

To promote a stable insurance market through unbiased regulation and to protect citizens' lives and property across all 100 counties, while providing superior, user-friendly service with courtesy and respect.

Primary Purpose of the Position

Handle incoming calls at the ASD Call Center regarding licensing, financial/continuing education, Public Records Requests, and complaints. Distribute calls or answer questions directly. Assist in processing license applications and support the Licensing Manager with licensing issues. Also, assist with special projects and other duties as needed.

This position requires working at least 4 days per week in the office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of services, policies, and procedures related to the program or area of specialization.
  • Ability to perform administrative tasks, explain and interpret information, and communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  • Knowledge of program policies, procedures, and information systems.
  • Ability to organize printed and electronic information and analyze data.
  • Proficiency with office equipment and relevant technology.
  • Problem-solving skills and effective approach selection.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor language to the audience.
Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED plus two years of related administrative experience, or equivalent combination.

Management Preferences / Qualifications
  • Customer service or call center experience preferred.
