Job summary

NC State University Extension in Onslow County seeks a COSS Support Specialist to provide administrative, programmatic and communications support to Extension staff. You will assist with public inquiries, maintain records, coordinate events, and develop and distribute educational materials.

The role supports Extension programs in Onslow County, working closely with NC Cooperative Extension staff and county leaders. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position funded by state and county funds.

Qualifications

• Must have strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Active Campaign or WordPress is a plus.
• Excellent communication and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for visitors and callers, providing information about Extension programs and events.
• Maintain electronic and physical filing systems; organize information for easy access.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate meeting minutes, mass mailings, email communications, and program-related correspondence.
• Manage event logistics for workshops, conferences, and field days; arrange facilities and setup.
