Responsibilities

  • Prepare written correspondence, forms, schedules, or reports using personal computer.
  • Maintain technology calendar of events.
  • Track software materials and licenses, performing routine inventories and filing.
  • Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for supervisor.
  • Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed.
  • Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
  • Perform routine bookkeeping tasks including simple arithmetic operations to maintain budget records.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders.
  • Receive, store, and issue supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of fixed assets, equipment, and supplies.
  • Communicate with end-users to resolve problems with software/hardware; coordinate with vendors and network manager.

Primary Purpose:

Provides secretarial and administrative services to the Technology Department.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Intermediate clerical training courses or demonstrable secretarial skills

  • Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance
  • Phone etiquette with professional level telephone and verbal communication skills a must Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Requires professional and courteous demeanor with public and co-worker

Experience:

  • Two years or more of clerical experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare written correspondence, forms, schedules, or reports using personal computer
  • Maintain technology calendar of events.
  • Track all software materials and licenses, performing routine inventories and filing
  • Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for supervisor
  • Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed.
  • Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
  • Perform routine bookkeeping tasks including simple arithmetic operations to maintain budget records.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders
  • Receive, store, and issue supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of fixed assets, equipment, and supplies.
  • Receive phone calls and work cooperatively to assist end-users to resolve problems and use software and hardware. Communicate with software and hardware vendors to resolve end-user problems
  • Communicate with network manager to detect and resolve end-user problems.
  • Process technology-related work orders and reassign priority to work orders.
  • Analyze and identify trends in issue reporting and devise preventative solutions
  • Help with resetting passwords, voicemail pins and enabling accounts
  • Uploads students accounts for applications
  • Help provide training district wide

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting: Frequently lifting up to 10 pounds; occasional light lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds)

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
