Job Summary Supports the daily operations of the Department of Geography and Geosciences. Assists in the support of programs and initiatives. Assists with marketing materials, student recruitment, student course and program planning, budget, program assessment, and department data and reports. Provides administrative support for faculty and students in the Geography and Earth Science academic undergraduate BS programs and the graduate MS in GIS Management program, while supporting the department chair in administering of the department, including scheduling, budgeting, contracts, advising and co-curricular programming. In addition, serves as the liaison to and communicates with other university offices, departments, students, community organizations, and other agencies. Authority and Accountability Position reports to directly to Department Chair, has responsibility for budget tracking. Supports graduate program and works with Graduate Program Director as required.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
