Johnson Service Group (JSG) has an immediate opportunity for an Accounting Specialist to join an established Electrical Contractor in San Diego. This contract-to-hire, onsite role offers $29-$32 per hour, based on skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.

The position supports accounting, payroll, and compliance activities, including billing, payroll entries, and COI management, with potential for long-term employment based on performance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related administrative role.
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience.
• Experience with certified payroll and compliance reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and handle confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Sage 300 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process customer billing, AR follow-up, AP invoices, payment runs, ACH payments, and bank deposits.
• Enter and reconcile transactions in Sage 300.
• Prepare and submit Certified Payroll Reports.
• Coordinate background checks, employee badging, and compliance documentation.
• Manage and track Certificates of Insurance (COIs).
• Provide backup support for payroll, 401(k), health, and pension reporting.
