Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Moorpark, CA as a long-term contractor with potential to convert to a full-time employee. The Staff Accountant will maintain financial records, prepare monthly statements, reconcile accounts, and support payroll.

Key qualifications include 5+ years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, strong communication and detail orientation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software such as Great

Responsibilities

• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Reconciles bank accounts monthly and addresses bank inquiries.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, AR, and other financial accounts; manages AR collections.
• Verifies and processes AP invoices and ensures payments are recorded correctly.
• Assists external auditors with annual audits and provides necessary documents.
• Assists with payroll.

Job description

JSG is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our clients team as a long term contractor, with the potential of converting to a full time employee of the client in Moorpark, CA. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.


• Maintains the general ledger.


• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.


• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.


• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts, manages accounts receivable collections.


• Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.


• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.


• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.


• Assist with payroll

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Qualifications: 5 Years + Experience in Accounting.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.


• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.


• Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.


• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software such as Great Plains and/or Microsoft Account Business Central (BC).


• Education Bachelor Degree in Accounting, or related field, required.

Pay rate $32-37 per hour #D800
