Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking a Sr. Corporate Accounting Associate to join our finance team in Irvine, CA. In this role, you will support the close process, focusing on debt-related accounting, ensure accuracy and timeliness, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, assist with audits and reporting, and contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in general ledger accounting or close processes.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and GL accounting concepts.
• Proficient Excel skills for large datasets and analyses.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication for audit support and cross-functional collaboration.
• High attention to detail and accuracy; able to analyze variances.

In this pivotal role, you'll support the company’s financial close processes, focusing on debt-related accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues, prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and contribute to audits and financial reporting efforts. Required Skills

• 4-6 years of experience in general ledger accounting, financial close, reconciliations, or related activities
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with large datasets
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Effective communication skills for collaboration and audit support
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to analyze variances and research accounting issues

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience in captive finance
• Knowledge of IFRS and internal control procedures
• Prior experience with debt instruments, derivatives, and hedge accounting

Preferred Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Other Requirements

• Hybrid work schedule (Monday-Thursday in office, 8-5) Friday remote.
• Ability to support internal and external audits with documentation and schedules
• Optional certifications or ongoing professional development in accounting

Pay range- $42-$46 per hour DOE
