USC Upstate in Spartanburg, SC is seeking an Administrative Assistant to perform a range of office support duties within the Mathematics & Computer Science department. The role involves front-desk tasks, document handling, scheduling, and coordination of department activities.

The position requires a high school diploma with six years of office administration experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties for department offices (reception, information dissemination, mail handling, supplies, inventory).
  • Coordinate department spaces (office assignments, keys, reservations, signage, access codes).
  • Attend department meetings and support accreditation and reporting tasks.
  • Process payment requests, purchase orders, expense reports, and deposits; manage supplier accounts.
  • Hire, train, and supervise student employees; assist with recruitment and orientation events.
  • Monitor budgets monthly and prepare reports; assist with departmental planning and events.
