Job description

Job Description Summary

The Law Department at Bentley University is always interested in learning about qualified candidates for Law adjunct faculty positions. Openings for these positions are not always available, but we encourage all qualified applicants to put their application into this pool as openings can occur at any time.

Given our current course offerings, our teaching needs most likely would be for our courses in the following areas:

  • Commercial Law
  • Environmental Law
  • Health Law
  • Securities Law
  • Social Justice Law

Therefore, if an applicant has expertise in one of these areas, they are encouraged to list that expertise in their application and/or cover letter. It is possible that expertise in other topical areas may become of interest as we develop new courses or experience changes in our current faculty so applicants should list these as well. Based on the needs of the Department, we will actively source candidates from this applicant pool when hiring Law adjunct faculty.

Pay Transparency

At Bentley we offer a “total rewards” package designed to attract, motivate, retain, and reward our employees. This includes competitive compensation, robust benefits, career development and opportunities, generous paid time off, workplace flexibility and a positive, engaging employee experience. In alignment with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act and our commitment to equity and transparency, we’re sharing the salary grade range for this role.

Salary Range

Compensation for adjunct faculty is governed by the collective bargaining agreement between Bentley University and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 509.

For the 2025–26 academic year, adjunct faculty are compensated at a rate of $7,225.00 per course.

Courses with labs and other four-credit courses shall be compensated at a higher minimum rate of $9,333.00 per course.

If you have questions about the salary grade range or need additional information, please contact us at GA_HR_Employment@bentley.edu. Bentley University requires references checks and may conduct other pre-employment screening.
