The Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in Asheville, NC seeks a Fire Service Instructor (Adjunct) to teach continuing education fire rescue classes. Instructors will work daytime and evening hours with some weekends, and hours depend on classes being taught.
Responsibilities include instructing fire rescue training for emergency responders in Buncombe and Madison Counties and maintaining required documentation per the North Carolina Fire Service and AB Tech.
This is a continuous recruitment to create an applicant pool, openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as‑needed basis only when hiring managers have a position that needs to be filled or class(es) that need to be staffed from semester to semester. Duties
Fire Service Instructors are responsible for instructing fire rescue training for emergency responders in Buncombe and Madison Counties following accepted outlines and course materials. Instructors are responsible for all documentation and records as required by the North Carolina Fire and Rescue Commission and Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College.
1. High School Diploma / GED ;
2. North Carolina Fire Service Instructor Level II certification;
3. Specialized training certifications as defined by the course requirements i.e Technical Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Driver Operator.
