Adjunct Instructor, Criminal Justice Technology (Continuous Posting)
Continuous recruitment to create an applicant pool. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as‑needed basis when a position or course needs to be staffed. Continuous postings remain open for 12 months.
Job Summary
The instructor is responsible for teaching a variety of Criminal Justice courses, utilizing classroom management and distance‑learning technology.
Duties
- Teach courses in the Criminal Justice Technology program.
- Develop course syllabus, teaching materials, activities, and handouts for each section/course taught.
- Prepare and deliver lectures.
- Research and maintain currency in related areas of expertise through professional development activities.
- Utilize technology and innovative instructional techniques.
- Abide by all policies, standards, goals and objectives of the College, the Emergency Services Division, and the Department.
- Participate in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities to improve instructional quality.
- Maintain accurate student records.
- Ensure all college reports and requested information are submitted promptly and accurately to the Department Chair.
- Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Criminal Justice; or Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Public Administration or Public Affairs) and 18 hours of Master’s‑Level Criminal Justice coursework.
- One year or more experience teaching instructional or training programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Criminal Justice; or Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Public Administration or Public Affairs) and 18 hours of Master’s‑Level Criminal Justice coursework.
- Five or more years experience teaching instructional or training programs.
- Ten or more years of work experience in the Criminal Justice field.
- Experience using college information databases such as Moodle and WebAdvisor.
