Job summary

Henkel, a global leader in adhesives and coatings, is seeking a Commercial Application Engineer in Irvine, CA to drive technical strategy with customers and cross-functional teams. You will lead product launches, manage complaints, develop new applications, and support key accounts while traveling up to 50% domestically.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and electronics experience preferred.
• Up to 50% travel will be required, domestically in US/Canada.
• High technical aptitude in electronics, mechanical and chemical domains.
• Printing/coating experience and adhesives background preferred.
• Experience with antennas, EMI and shielding applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Significant technical contributor to market and application initiatives.
• Direct and deploy cross functional team to execute technical strategy at customer, including product launches, complaint management, and new application development.
• Lead technically driven PD and innovation projects for key portfolio gaps with KPI applications and markets.
• Develop necessary technical capability standards and methods for markets and applications new to Henkel.
• Own North American sourced projects and coordinate with global teams for cross regional development.
• Manage and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safety protocols; train/lead peers.
• Provide direct Application Engineering support to proactively drive growth.
• Identify unmet needs at Key Accounts and with Regional/Inside Sales teams.
• Support growth at new opportunities from website inquiries or cold calls with technical guidance.
• Participate in reviews of new development projects ensuring timely AE workstreams for key initiatives.
