Job summary

Rivian Automotive in Palo Alto is seeking an engineer to support the Lateral/Longitudinal Controls team within Automated Drive Systems Integration. You will focus on test execution, branch management, and cross-team coordination for the lat/long control stack on development vehicles.

Key duties include running functional and regression tests, maintaining development branches, coordinating software changes across teams, and prototyping tools (e.g., Python scripts) to accelerate integration.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and practices.
• Experience in chassis control or vehicle dynamics is preferred.
• Passion for ADAS system control development and safe testing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional, regression, and isolated test runs for lateral/longitudinal control.
• Own and maintain the team's development branch, melding changes and resolving conflicts.
• Coordinate software changes across teams contributing to the LT/LL control stack.
• Support day-to-day LT/LL control topics with issue triage and test prioritization.
• Collaborate with Perception, Planning, and Systems teams to integrate ADS components.
• Maintain branches for model deployment iterations and downstream systems.
• Identify cross-functional gaps and work toward integration solutions.
• Support preliminary verification of ADAS software releases on test vehicles.
• Prototype tools (e.g., Python scripts) to accelerate development and data analysis.
