University of Maryland Medical System Corporation seeks a Clinical Nurse for UMMS Staffing. This RN role is deployed to clinical units per need, practicing under Maryland Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies, delivering patient- and family-centered care across inpatient and approved settings.

The USC RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, adheres to safety standards, and participates in quality improvement while maintaining licensure and required certifications.

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in Maryland or eligibility via Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Unit-specific certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS) as required by unit.
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent acute care nursing experience in the past 12 months.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care appropriate to patient population and unit acuity.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, implement interventions, evaluate responses, and document in EMR.
• Collaborate with patients, families, charge nurses, managers, and interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity, safety, and quality of care.
• Safely administer medications and use clinical equipment per policy and competency.
• Delegate and supervise nursing care activities per Nurse Practice Act and competency levels.
• Demonstrate professionalism and effective communication across units and settings.
• Adhere to evidence-based practice and regulatory standards to promote safety and quality.
• Identify and report patient safety risks, adverse events, and near misses.
• Support unit operations and staffing, including charge duties as appropriate.
• Participate in quality improvement, performance improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
• Maintain licensure, certifications, and competencies for assigned settings.
• Complete required organizational, regulatory, and annual education.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain clinical competence.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
