University of Maryland Medical System Staffing (USC) seeks a Clinical Nurse to deliver safe, patient- and family-centered care across UMMS inpatient, procedural, surgical and ambulatory settings. Deployed through Staffing Center to units based on need and validated competencies, the RN follows Maryland Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in Maryland or eligibility via NLC
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Unit-specific certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) as required by the unit
• Minimum of two years of recent acute care nursing experience

Responsabilités

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care suitable for patient population and unit acuity
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and documents care in the EMR
• Collaborates with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care
• Safely administers medications and uses clinical equipment per policy and competencies
• Delegates and supervises nursing care per Nurse Practice Act and policy
• Maintains professionalism and effective communication during shift transitions
• Complies with evidence-based practice and regulatory standards to promote safety
• Reports patient safety risks and adverse events promptly
• Supports unit operations and staffing needs, including charge roles when competent
• Participates in quality and performance improvement activities

Formation

Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
