Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse for the UMMS Staffing Center. The USC RN will be deployed to clinical units based on need and demonstrated competencies, delivering evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care.

The role requires MD RN licensure, BLS, and a minimum of two years in acute care within the past year, with a BSN. Availability for unit-based roles and ongoing development is expected.

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse license in Maryland.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of two years of recent acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care appropriate to the patient population and acuity of the assigned unit.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments, implements nursing interventions, and documents care in the EMR.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team to promote continuity, safety and quality of care.
• Administers medications safely and uses clinical equipment per policy and competency.
• Delivers unit-based supervision and supports staffing needs within validated competencies.
• Participates in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
