Job summary

University of California - Irvine Health is seeking a clinical nurse to join the Enterprise Float Pool. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for patients, and ensure safe discharge planning.

The role requires a CA RN license, a BSN, and 2+ years in acute care with ICU/step-down exposure; flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires California RN license and BSN.
• Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience with recent Step-Down or ICU experience.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to float between Orange and Irvine campuses.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients; coordinate care between disciplines and support staff.
• Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of the plan of care, and readiness for discharge; revise plan or make referrals as necessary.
• Act as a role model and mentor to students and nurses new to the unit; function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by supervision.
